Derry~Londonderry Heroes Project YMCA

For the next few sessions on a Wednesday we will be cooking and baking different things as part of HEROES Kitchen! For our first session we did the fan favourite.... Pizza! Everyone really enjoyed making their own pizzas, base and all. Alongside this we also played a game of food hygiene bingo and learnt about the different ways to stay safe and healthy when cooking and baking.  The recipe for the pizza can be found  here

For an exciting day out in Derry~Londonderry why not try The Walled City bound! Go on an adventure around the Walled City and discover things you may not have seen before! The bound starts at Guildhall square and will take you on a journey around the 400 year old walls and show you some of the famous sights along the way! A bound is an interactive scavenger hunt done on phones and tablets, and is made up of many different challenges such as answering questions, finding locations and taking photos.  To access the scavenger hunt you need to download the actionbound app onto your phone or tablet. To find this bound you can search for it by putting in the name, looking for bounds nearby or by scanning the QR Code. This bound can take between 1 hour and 2 hours depending on the nature of your group. If the weather is bad you can always stop off at a coffee shop. This week our group explored identity, what makes them who they are. Each young person got to make their own identity shield which included drawings of different aspects of their identity such as their family, interests and favourite things.
